I have seen this one in my minds eye for quite some time now and I finally put needle to fabric and stitched him up. The wing flapping and splashing in this design shows the territorial display of the Common Loon. It is his way of portraying to all of the others out there that this is "My Space"!!!! We have created a very special piece of fabric on which he is worked. The dyes are actually brushed onto the fabric to represent the water after which we go back in and add the splashing water droplets to capture the scene.
